UPDATED: Aug. 10, 2012. 1:19 PM.

Anonymous asked: How is the flood at Vista Verde in Cainta, Rizal right now. I am stranded right now in taft for 4 days now cause of school but my family is there now. Just wanna get an update. Thanks!

Hope you are safe there at Taft! It seems like different parts of the village are experiencing various levels of flood.

While a friend of mine said that 3 hours ago, flood waters were at chest level,  as of 4 hours ago @seejeanierun said that:

Vista Verde streets are knee/waist-deep in flood. It’s still raining hard.”

and that:

“…neck-deep pa sa village gate.”

Just 8 hours ago, @LadyAnnnne said that:

“…Some families can’t buy food due to the chest level flood.”

Fortunately, according to @paolobediones

RESCUE5 finished missions in Vista Verde, Cainta n Tumana n Malanday, Marikina. Tom is another day. Wil fwd ur concerns. Tnx 4 ur patience.

Some areas are experiencing power outages and there’s no signal, but I hope that your family’s staying safe!
My prayers go out to them tonight.

Anonymous asked: I have a friend in Cainta who is running out of food, he says they are getting no relief goods. Who is helping folks in Cainta?

Hello! Where is your friend in Cainta, specifically? Is he at an Evac Center?

If he isn’t, maybe try these: San Francisco Elementary School / Kabisig Elementary School / Planters Covered Court / Anakpawis 2 Covered Court / Anakpawis 1 Covered Court / Lakas Tao Brgy. Hall / Lakas Bisig Covered Court(Previously Reported as Lakas Tao Covered Court) / Cainta Elementary School / Felix Elementary School / Brgy. San Isidro Halang Elementary School / Municipal Annex Daang Bangka / Tribu Bayanihan / Brgy. Hall, Brgy. Sto. Nino Renea Compound / Brgy. San Roque Covered Court / PFCI CoveredCourt, whichever is nearest to you.

As for who’s in charge, it seems to be DSWD. (Click!)
Hope this helps! Sorry it took a while. Please don’t hesitate to ask further questions!

KNOW THAT YOU ARE NOT HELPLESS AT HOME.

6.30pm-8pm: Tana and I walked along Penelope Lane in Acropolis, knocked on doors and asked for one cup of rice. We filled almost one sack, plus canned goods, biscuits, bread, noodles, and cereals. This was from only ONE street. :) All of them were so willing to give. Tans and I are safe in our villages, no flood, dry, bellies full. And we’re sure most of you who are reading this are too. But thousands of Filipinos are not. Knock on doors tomorrow, some people are just waiting for you to. Keep safe. Pray. ♥
